TRAIL OF THE SMUGGERS
GREAT EMOTIONS OVERLOOKING LAKE GARDA

The smugglers’ path, built towards the end of the 19th century and then re-equipped in the 1990s, offers hikers a magnificent view of Lake Garda . Always sheer and very exposed, it retraces what in times gone by was the route of salt and tobacco smugglers. Venturing on a roped party, protected by carabiners and lanyards, on the vertiginous walls of Lake Garda, recalls the history of these fearless men, through an extraordinary and unique route immersed in an environment of exceptional beauty. The route, which lasts approximately 4-5 hours, is particularly suitable for adventurous hikers, who want to get closer to the via ferrata world.
ITINERARY TECHNICAL SHEET.
SATURDAY 22TH APRIL: meeting point in piazzale Eurobrico, on the state road that connects Arco to Riva del Garda at 9 o’clock. Positioning of the car at the arrival point, transfer to the starting point.
Smugglers’ ledges overlooking the eastern shore of Lake Garda. The activity will end around 4 pm.
NUMBER OF PEOPLE: minimum 3, maximum 6
WHAT IS INCLUDED: accompaniment and assistance from the Alpine Guide.
REQUIRED LEVEL: good hiker/ferratist able to walk 4-5 hours a day, who does not suffer from vertigo and with a good aptitude for sport.
PLANED ACTIVITIES: mountaineering trail/via ferrata (medium difficulty)
CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT: trekking shoe suitable for walking on rough terrain, trekking clothing, rain jacket, sunglasses, bottle or flask with water, via ferrata kit (if not available, possibility to rent to be agreed with the guide) backpack.
